Memorial Weekend

I thought this picture was so cute. It is out of order (see below). Clay was having such a good time at the Provo Cemetary. He was tired at one point and just sat down but this grave (we don't know this person) and rested with his hands on his knees. I said, "Hey Clay look at me." To which he replied, "Cheese".
Saturday was Brion's birthday and Amie invited anyone that could, to go bowling and then for pizza at their house. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pics: Amie had made a beehive for his cake with chocolate bees on it. Lexie was so good not to put her fingers in it. I call that self control.
Here is Papa and Lexie at the bowling alley.

Landon bowling. You can see his ball going down almost to the pins. Both Landon and Logan are good bowlers.

On Memorial day we picked up mom and we (Nick, Brett and I) took her up to my grandpa and grandma's Chatfield's grave site at Mt. Olivet Cemetary in SLC. Here they are talking around my uncle Spencer's grave. He died in WWII and was never married.

We got to talking to mom about where she and dad lived right after they got married in the early 40's. We didn't think it would still be standing, but it was and it is named the same. Peter Pan Apartments at 445 West 300 South. We got out and took several pictures.

We met Kim, Spencer and Clay for lunch and then we took off to Provo Cemetary where Nick's grandparent (on his Mom's side) are buried. We we also found Spencer's GG parents. His GG'pa was the first bishop in Provo.

Here is Nick, Spencer, Brett and Kim
Last of all we went to Lehi cemetary where my dad, grandparents and Nick's mom and dad and grandparents are buried. This picture is his mom and dad's gravesite. We also put flowers on Pam and Tracy's daughter Jessica's grave each year. Nick and I bought a couple of plots in the cemetary and we stopped by it, but alas, nobody put any flowers there, hee, hee.
Then on memorial night we went over to feed the cows their last meal and found that one had escaped. When it saw Nick with the white bucket he came a runnin' and went right back in. Scott came down and helped Nick fix the fence until they will be picked up and sent to the butcher's. What do you say to a cow.....goodbye, adios amigos? I have no idea.

We hope everybody had a safe and wonderful memorial day......we surely did.
P.S. It is now 10:45 pm and we just got back from rounding up our cows because they got out. Come to find out, they have gotten out 3-4 times this weekend. We didn't know, because Ken and Jennie Hale (where we keep the cows) were on vacation and so their neighbors would just round them up and put them back. How embarrassing!! Tonight the whole neighborhood was out with their horses and 4-wheelers. If only Nick and I would have had a gun, we would have used it tonight! If I was a swearing woman....as it is....those stupid darn cows, I am not going to be sorry tomorrow when they are hangin' on a hook!!!

Thanks for the comment :) Tell Nick that although his story was sad, it was another piece of the puzzle for me on my grandpa's heroic save for his son. Good to visit with you two.

That is cool that grandma's first apartment is still there.

Miriam, I've never heard you use such language. LOL Did you have your cowgirl boots on out roundin up them cows? They're not the sharpest tacks in the animal planet. We had George's cow running in our yard one year lots of consternation during that event also you are not alone in the loose cow department.
What a colorful ending to a lovely day.
