More highlights of GC

These two little kids are so special! DSW is such a ham. He is the best big brother and takes care of little E. He is going into kindergarten this year and I bet he will be the smartest one in the class (unbiased opinion obviously). I remember when he was about 3 years old he was saying the blessing on the food and said, "Bless Grammy, she a good grammy." Well, Heavenly Father has blessed us with you, dear D!!! Next is little KSW. I call her Katie m' lady. She knows who it is when I say that on the phone. She has huge blue eyes. She loves her sisters and the sister to come in a few months. My thought is this.....K is such a nurturer to everyone around her, that her new little sister will want for nothing! I think she will make the best big sister. We are thankful for her!

Nick Webb Reunion

Another reunion has come and gone much to our dismay! We get together and have so much fun. This was a stay close to home reunion. Friday night we gathered at Brion's house for a BBQ and smores (in his new outside fireplace that he built). Saturday we all met at our house and had a great breakfast of SPEC (sausage, potatoes, eggs and cheese) along with pancakes that Nick cooked out back. Then the boys went golfing afterwhich the girls got a pedicure (BTW the house was a total wreck after we got our pedicures...did the guys really watch the kids?). We then all went down to Scott and Lacee's for water games, pizza and a movie that we watched outside. On Monday we reserved a small pavillion at Lagoon and spent the day having a blast on the rides. Clay wasn't interested in eating, just playing. Just for your information his little swimming diaper was about 30lbs of water and was dropping down his little legs....my, they didn't make diapers that could hold that much when we had kids!

The kids and their dads played water kickball. First base was a little swimming pool, second was the above slip and slide that Jarom is getting up from and third...well, I can't remember what third was.

Easton and Dax on a ride at Lagoon. These rides were NOT exciting enough for them. The Bat which is a smaller version of the Wicked for adults was more their style.

Brion and Nick went on the catapult which is the scariest ride at Lagoon. They took a video of them and it was funny. After the initial thrill, as they were coming down their conversation went like this: Brion: "I wonder who engineered this thing." Nick: "I wonder if they took the lowest bid for welding." Only Nick would think of that!

Allie and Kate never left each others side. They aren't only sisters, but best buds!

These two little ones Lexie and Clay have a special relationship. They love each other and you often find them giving each other hugs.

Well, that is it for this year. Everything was a big hit except the movie Nick and I picked out...Pete's Dragon. It was interesting to the kids for about 2 seconds. I liked it as a kid, why don't they? We had so much fun together that we haven't heard from the kids since....I guess they are reliving all the excitement over and over :)

July 4th Celebration

The weekend of July 4th came and went way too fast! We had so much fun. Brett came out as well as Brion and Amie on Saturday for Grantsville's parade (I didn't get pictures of that experience) and to have a barbeque out back. What is a barbeque without homemade ice cream? Landon wanted to help. Here is a picture of his determined expression. Of course the best part of homemade ice cream is when it is done, you get to lick the paddles. Logan, Landon and Lexie chowing down. They couldn't get enough of it.

When they had finished I took the paddles away and turned around to get a wash cloth and this is what I saw....

Licking the counter top!! All three of them! B&A left Lexie overnight on Saturday so they could go to the Stadium of Fire. We had a good time with her. Scott and Lacee came home from their cabin and visited with B&A and Nick, I and Brett on Sunday evening. Here is Easton. He loves his sunglasses.

A quick game of horse shoes is always fun. Brett beat the pants of Brion...hee, hee. Scott and Nick were against Brion and Brett in this game.

While the guys were playing horseshoes all the kids were playing on the swingset and tramp.

We let off some fireworks (just a few) and here is the audience. I think these were better than Grantsville's and Deseret Peaks.....anyway, ours lasted longer.

On Monday Brett, Nick and I decided that we would visit all of the prophets graves except Joseph Smith (he is buried in Nauvoo and we have been there a couple of times). We started at the SLC cemetary where we found all of the prophets except president Lorenzo Snow who is buried in Brigham City, Ezra Taft Benson who is buried in Whitney Idaho and Brigham Young who is buried in a little cemetary by city creek just east of downtown SLC. It took us all day, but we sure enjoyed it. Here is Brigham Youngs grave site. Notice the bronze head at the left and sitting by Nick is a bronze of Brigham Young sitting on the bench playing with his grandchildren. It was a quiet, peaceful place.

This is President Bensons in Whitney Idaho which is just north of Logan. This cemetary is the neatest little cemetary. It isn't a block long, surrounded by big beautiful trees and you have to go on a dirt road to get to it. I loved it!!

While in the SLC Cemetary we found many other dignitaries like Truman Madsen who just passed away last year (he is a cousin of Adrien's) as well as Heber J. Grant who is Adrien's great great grandfather! We had a nice drive through the beautiful Cache Valley and southern Idaho. Even Brett enjoyed it. All in all it was a wonderful weekend, just what we needed.
