Lexie Jo's Arrival

September 18, 2008 was a magnificent day!! Brion and Amie called first thing in the morning and asked if I could come and take care of the boys at their house while they went to the hospital. Of course I was already packed and ready to "be on deck" as Brion puts it. By 5:20 pm Nick and I had our 9th grandchild (well, not actually us, Amie did the work LOL). I got Logan and Landon ready and we took off for the hospital where they met their little sister, Lexie Jo. Now this name is very neat. She is named after Amie's grandma (Lexie) Whimpey and after my mom and Nick's mom (both Josephine). She is a living doll! She weighed in at 8 lb and 8 oz. She has a perfect little head and a beautiful complexion. She looks like both Logan and Landon, but mostly Landon. It was so tender when I took the boys home last night and got them dressed in their PJ's, we knelt down for prayer. Little Landon (2 1/2) in his prayer said, "Thank you Heavenly Father for my baby sister Lexie". That touched my heart so much. Here are some pictures you might enjoy-- The first thing Logan and Landon did when they saw their mom and Lexie was climb up on the bed right next to both the girls in the family. I tell you, Lexie is going to be the most protected little girl in the world with these two brothers.
First family picture. Doesn't Amie look good?
Logan holding Lexie for the first time.
Landon holding Lexie for the first time. Notice the little stuffed bear. I took the boys to Target so they could pick out something for their sister before we went to see her. Landon picked out the teddy bear and Logan picked out a little soft dollie. I asked Logan what girls like and he said, "anything pink, pink, pink."
This is a tender picture of Papa holding Lexie with Logan giving her a hug.

Allie's Birthday Sleepover

It was Allie Miriam's turn to have her birthday sleepover with Papa and Grammy. We had a great time!! She is such a little angel. I picked her up, drove up to Papa's work, took the train over to the Gateway, had pizza and cheetos, bought a Dora Explorer book at Barnes and Noble, took the train back to Papa's office, drove home, got in our PJ's, put in a movie (Madagascar) and when that was over we read her book, looked at the stars on Kimmy's bedroom ceiling, closed our eyes and went to sleep (then I snuck back into our bedroom for the night). The next morning we got up, had breakfast (cereal and toast with LOTS of butter on it) and baked cupcakes. While we were putting the icing and candy sprinkles on the cupcakes, Allie said, "I think Dax would like a cupcake, can we take one over to him and maybe one to Easton?" I thought that was a great idea and so off we went to Grantsville, but Dax and Easton weren't home so we left them on the kitchen table for them. Allie did take some home to her family because she thought that her "daddy and mommy will really like the candy sprinkles!" Here are some pictures---Papa and Allie in Papa's office Papa and Allie on the train. Allie recognized the SL Temple on the way
Grammy and Allie eating pizza and cheetos.
Allie with the cupcake dough and the candy sprinkles~~she liked eating the candies right out of the package Well, the next grandchild to have a birthday sleepover will be Landon and his birthday is in March, which is a good thing, as Papa and Grammy are exhausted!!! LOL

Logan's Birthday

It was Logan's birthday so we had him overnight with us. I picked him up and took him to Papa's office. Then we took Trax over to Gateway and had some pizza and ice cream. When we got home we had a pajama movie night and watched Star Wars. The next day Nick took Logan fishing and then we went to the Living Planet and got to pet rays, crabs and starfish. We had a great time. Here are some pictures: This is all of us at the Living Planet
Papa and Logan up Settlement Res. fishing. They didn't even get a bite, but they had a lot of fun
Here they are riding Trax. Logan really liked it. I wish we would have thought about Trax sooner so that we could have taken Emmie and Dax when it was their birthday turn.

Today I have been putting up plum jam. We have plums coming out of our ears!! It makes the best jam and the reason I do it is because Nick likes it so much. While I was at the sink washing and pitting the plums listening to 94.1 oldies station, I looked out the window above the sink and saw a little praying mantis. I took a picture of it. He was my friend while I worked all morning. We had a good conversation, mostly one-sided though (I think he was on his knees with his hands together, maybe that is why they call him a praying mantis). I didn't want to disturb his quiet time and so I didn't knock on the window. He stayed with me until I got through and now I have a little praying mantis as a buddy-- Here is the jam~~~doesn't look like much, but I am planning on doing more next week. BTW, if anybody wants some plums you are more than welcome to come and pick what you want.
