The Uintas

Every year for the past 10 years Nick and the boys have hiked into the Uintas for a few days of fishing. This was the first year for the next generation to go with them. Logan and Emmie were so excited to be old enough to go. They had a great time. They hiked into Granddaddy Lake which isn't very far--about 3-4 miles, but for their first trip it probably was good. Here are some pictures: Logan is like his dad use to be...always moving, always exploring.

Logan ate his fish for dinner.
Emmie was a little fisherwoman!!
Is that a tree growing in a rock?
Hey, where's all that good fish?

Logan and Emmie taking a rest on the way up the trail. Notice Emmie's little kitty tied to her camel back. I gave that to her when she was about 6 months old. That just kills me!!! They didn't carry any of their equipment, their dad's had too :) When Nick got home just a couple of hours ago, I was wondering what it was like in each of their tents. (They had three tents). I was wondering what Brion and Logan's conversation might have been, or Jarom and Emmie's conversation right before they fell asleep. From his tent, Nick said he heard Jarom singing Emmie to sleep. That just touches my heart. They are all looking forward to next year!

Unforgettable Experience

This morning in Fast and Testimony meeting in the Parkside Ward a young girl, about the age of 7 or 8, got up and bore her testimony. She said, "I picture heaven something like this: Peaceful with lots of smiling faces. I think I could visit with Jesus and Heavenly Father and my grandpa. I want to be there with them. The gospel gives me so much happiness and I think that is a little bit of Heaven too." I have never heard such a testimony coming from a little person before. I don't know anything about this young girl. Her simple testimony was expressed with such sweetness and faith, and it really touched my heart. I hope this has touched yours as well.
