Webb Cousins

Right around Easter we had Jennifer Williams from Forget*me*not photography take pictures of the grandkids. She did such a great job. I had a ball during this time. It was fun to watch the kids, some smiling, some just walking off, some crying. It really was a circus, and yet Jennifer got some really good pictures out of it. To BEE or not to BEE

There is a lot of buzzing around my mom's house~~out by her garden area. Brion and Amie bought some bees and a queen bee along with a beehive. Isn't that exciting? The two of them took a class on beehives and they sure know their stuff. I was down to mom's on Monday and the two of us went to check them out. It is a dandy little beehive. Not only will it be an asset to the gardeners around the area, but B&A will have quite a bit of honey for their storage, as well as to share with others. Their goal is to make sure all of their family and friends have enough honey to store. Isn't that neat? That is such a good thing. This hive will produce lots and lots of honey over the next several years. We are so proud of them for taking this on and trying to be of service to others. WOW!! They are AWESOME! 88 and doin' great!

My blessed mother turned 88 years old last Friday. She is my hero and my example. She has been the most wonderful mother in the world!! She has been a widow for 34 years and since then she has accomplished a lot. She didn't just give up and coast through life. She served a mission on Temple Square as a tour guide on Sundays for 4 years, served in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples until her eyesight left. She served a full-time proselyting mission to San Bernadino California after she retired. She has written a history of her father, mother and put together a marvelous history book of her ancestors. She has written my dad's history. She continues to do geneology work (she has a woman that comes once a week to be her eyes) and has found thousands of names and she sees that all their work is done in the temple. She is now compiling her own history. All these things she has done SINCE my dad died. What a wonderful example she is to all of us. Last Friday we took all my grandkids to her house and sang "Happy Birthday" as a surprise. She loved it!! Then we went across the street to check out the little baby lambs. Here are some pictures. Well, another year has gone by and mom has done well. We hope to have her around for another 10 years or more. We don't know what we would do without her as we all love her so!

Sweet Experiences

After nearly six years of being the bishop of the 4th Ward, Nick and his counselors were released today. Nick bore a strong testimony of the Savior as well as expressed his deep love for the ward members. This calling has blessed all of our family; me, our children and grandchildren. I have watched him grow in love, compassion and testimony through this wonderful experience. The stake president asked him if he had any regrets and not suprising to me, Nick said he didn't. As he explained to the president, he knew he wasn't perfect as he made many mistakes, but he did his best and served with all of his heart. I am thankful to his counselors and clerks who made his calling much, much easier. They did everything within their power to help Nick with the different duties of a bishopric. These men Nick truly loves. I am also thankful for our children and grandchildren who never, ever complained about not having dad or Papa around as much as they would have liked. Precious is a family that is always there showing their support and love. Most of all I am thankful for a man in my life that, no matter where he is called, serves with all of his heart with no thought of accolades. I am thankful for the opportunity that Nick has had and we are both looking forward to other opportunities to serve.

General Conference Weekend

I must admit, I love General Conference. I always have, even when I was little. Not that I am all that spiritual, but I always loved hearing the prophet and the leaders of the church speak. It makes me feel good inside. Well, this weekend was no different. Jarom came out with the girls on Friday night (Adrien was with her sisters in St. George). On Saturday Jarom had his second to last class (afterwhich he will have his MBA) while Nick and I watched the girls. It was a lot of fun. I absolutely love telling stories while they are tucked into bed. On Friday night Emmie and I stayed up a little after 11 o'clock just chit-chatting while laying in bed. Saturday night Lacee brought the boys over and Brion brought his boys from Saratoga Springs. We had a ball while the guys went to the priesthood meeting. My ears are still recuperating from all the noise. LOL. Sunday Jarom the girls, and Scott and Lacee with the boys came for lunch in between conference. Here are some pictures of the weekend:
This picture is while the blessing was said on the food on Sunday~~I know I should have had my eyes closed, but this was too good to pass up. Saturday night the kids got the little chairs and started jumping into the Luv Sac (bean bag for those who are NOT COOL). We had to stop this after a while as there was a potential for head banging.

I taught the kids some of the dances that I did while growing up. Here is the "swim". Do any of you remember that? I also taught them the twist (a little BEFORE my time, but just the same) and the pony.

Nick does 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST-OFF in the Luv Sac. He use to do this with our own kids only he would throw them on the bed. I thought this was a great shot of Kate in mid-air!

Well, Jarom and the girls just left and Allie asked if I was going to be alone. I said that I would tomorrow when Papa goes to work. She thought that was sad and wanted to come back. Anyway, we had a great weekend, as I hope that all of you did!
