There is a lot of buzzing around my mom's house~~out by her garden area. Brion and Amie bought some bees and a queen bee along with a beehive. Isn't that exciting? The two of them took a class on beehives and they sure know their stuff. I was down to mom's on Monday and the two of us went to check them out. It is a dandy little beehive. Not only will it be an asset to the gardeners around the area, but B&A will have quite a bit of honey for their storage, as well as to share with others. Their goal is to make sure all of their family and friends have enough honey to store. Isn't that neat? That is such a good thing. This hive will produce lots and lots of honey over the next several years. We are so proud of them for taking this on and trying to be of service to others. WOW!! They are AWESOME! Here is Brion dumping the bees into the hive.

Look how many busy little bees there are!

They are brave! I love honey, but after a cub scout field trip to a beehive that went really badly, I just like to get my honey from the store...doesn't hurt as much!
BEE-utiful! Ha ha
Miriam, I had to laugh at your comment about Battle Chicken. Note, I did say that the interaction between Mr. Droubay and the rooster did not go well, BUT I did not say HOW that transpired. It appears that your sweet husband and mine both had the same solution. Football punting or field goals come to mind. It will hopefully teach the desired lesson.
Ahhh, life in rural America is great. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I'm so glad we live in a neighborhood where we can have things like beehives, roosters, gardens, etcetera. I just lOVE IT!
Sounds like fun in someone elses yard.
Enjoy the honey.
