Those Were The Days

Today at church a good fellow gave us two pictures. This first one is of Kim's primary class. She is on the front row second from left. The only other children I know is Lindsay (Kim's cousin) is in the sailor dress, Valene VanWagoner is on the other side of Kim with Justin Black on the back row on the left. The teacher is Karen Gladden. If anybody can identify the rest of the kids, let me know. This picture is a sweet picture for two reasons. Brett and Mark are on their missions, and Sister Gwilliam was the "candy teacher" according to Brett. Whenever he would be missing from the house, he most likely was on his way up the street to Sis Gwilliam's house for a piece of candy. The little girl is Sara Black. Do you think Mark liked having his picture taken?

Technology wonders

Isn't technology wonderful? Nick bought me my very first iPod. I'm so impressed that I am going to give whom ever it was that invented this a big kiss when I (or if) I get to heaven. This little gadget is amazing. I can listen to music, scriptures, general conference, books on tape, anything!! I was so impressed by it that Nick and I bought one for my mother. Now remember from earlier posts that she is 88 years old. She is not afraid of technology (or anything else for that matter, she is a very brave woman!). With the help of Spencer, we downloaded two Mormon Tabernacle CD's and one session of General Conference on hers. I got my trusty glue gun out, got it all heated up, and wahlaa, I put little hot glue dots that she can feel where she needs to push to start, stop, volume and the on/off button. She was quite excited about it. I showed her how to use it and she just loves it!! Now she doesn't have to carry her radio outside with her when she does her gardening. She just puts those little babies in her ears, clips it to her shirt and away she goes. Just for your information, when she opened it, all of our kids looked like we were crazy to give it to her--how would she be able to turn it on, work the volume, or skip a song? The moral of this story is, DON'T EVER UNDER ESTIMATE GRANDMA GREAT!! So, my mom and I are officially techies. I have finally reached my goal.

Jarom's Graduation

We are so proud of Jarom and Adrien!! Last night Nick and I went to Jarom's graduation. He received his Executive MBA from University of Utah!! It was fun to watch Adrien and the girls watch as he walked up to recieve his diploma. Emmie was blowing kisses to her dad and Allie and Kate were just excited because everybody else was excited. Adrien's dad, Charlie was there to celebrate as well. Her mom was babysitting Bekah's kids and couldn't come, or she would have definitely been there. Jarom called me during the day and said, "Now mom, don't be disappointed if they pronounce my name Jerome. You remember they did that at BYU graduation, so that is probably what will happen today." Well, guess what. They did pronounce his name right--a heathen university (just kidding) got his name right and the Lord's university (just kidding) didn't. (The reason I say that is because there is a book in the Book of Mormon that is Jarom, LOL). Anyway, it was so fun to watch this little family be so excited. I must say that Jarom couldn't have done this without the love and support of Adrien. She held the family together while he accomplished his goal. Now since he has his CPA and MBA maybe that will be enough, hopefully. Here is our happy little family: Mark Loveless was nice enough to take this picture. He was there for his brother Jeff's MBA.

Nick and I along with Scott, Lacee and family, and Brion and Amie with thier kids went to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. Jarom had just got home from two weeks in Eastern Europe early that morning and so we figured they needed to be alone as a family. Kim and Spencer had just put Clay down for a nap and missed as well. It was a little bit rainy and cool, but we had a great time!! The gardens are so beautiful. Take a look:

Here is our little Lexie. She is such a sweet pea!

I like this picture. It is not too close, yet far enough away that we know who it is, ha, ha. Can you see the yellow flower to the right that is like a hanging flower? Well, it stinks like a skunk. One of the workers said I should smell it, so what did I do? I stuck my nose right in there and took a big whiff!! Holy smoke it stunk! Reminds me of our black lily that will be blooming in a couple of weeks.

This was such a pretty spot. All colors of tulips, yellow, red, white, purple, pink. It really was beautiful.
