Girls, Girls, Girls

Last weekend Jarom and Adrien went to San Diego and I got to babysit the girls. It was a lot of fun. Saturday morning Emmie had a dance recital dress rehearsal in Alpine and so the night before they all got baths and I curled their hair in sponge curlers. Allie and Kate wouldn't sleep in theirs, so they took them out. The next morning Emmie said, "Grammy, I am very particular about my hair!" I said, "Well, I only had one girl and she was doing her own hair by the time she was in 1st grade and so I am not so good with the hair." I took her curlers out and Wahlaa, beautiful!! She was very excited about it. Kate, Allie and I watched as Emmie did her dance and then we went out into the hallway for pictures. All the other mothers were primming and fussing over their girls with hairspray, makeup, etc. Do mothers really do that? Anyway, Emmie said, "Grammy, we forgot makeup!" I knelt down right in front of her and said, "Emmie you are so beautiful you don't need makeup." She agreed with that (to my delight). She did say, "I think I should have brought some lipstick though." Oh dear! Well, we had a great time. After we went to the rehearsal we stopped off at McDonald's for lunch. That night we had a PJ party and watched Hairspray. It was fun because we all tried to do the dance steps.

I have decided that little Kate is a nurturer. She is the one that takes care of everybody elses needs. She will run around getting drinks, goodies, etc. to share with others. Allie is very, very active and always likes to be busy. She is a good big sister to Kate and Emmie is a good big sister to both Kate and Allie. Here the girls are at McDonald's.

Here is Emmie in her costume for the rehearsal. Come to find out we had it on wrong. The red shirt is suppose to be tucked under the skirt because the skirt has cute suspenders. I don't know anything.....Well, I take that back, I know how to help with baseball and football uniforms, but dancing costumes, I need some practice. ;)

Sweet Experiences

While Kim and Spencer were in Las Vegas Nick and I got to watch Clay. He is a cute little guy. Spencer thinks he is totally Tait in everything he does, but I disagree. There is some of our family in him as well. He likes to carry on a conversation with a word here and there that is recognizable.... that sounds like us, doesn't it? He laughs at his own jokes....sounds like us too! He has a sweetness about him that is just like his mother. It was fun to have him all to ourselves.

On Sunday was another sweet experience. Each month our family gets together one Sunday for FHE and dinner. We always have a great time. We take turns and yesterday was at Scott and Lacee's. Thier house is always fun to visit. The mothers got their kids dinner plates and set them outside while they went back in to get the adults. It was interesting that all the little kids sitting in a circle stopped before they ate and had a blessing by themselves! Dax gave it and it wasn't a typical blessing. He blessed each one in the circle, he thanked Heavenly Father for the gospel, blessed the food, and before he ended, Logan (who was sitting next to him) whispered, "bless us that we won't use swear words." He must have had a lesson on that in primary today. Meanwhile, in the house the adults had a blessing, but I'm sure it wasn't as sweet and innocent as what I heard. Aren't children amazing?

Great Ladies

These ladies are very special to me. Left to right: Sister Peggy White, me, Sister Thea Touhy. We work together in the membership records calling all over the United States and Canada trying to find members who have moved with no forwarding address. The three of us laugh a lot and we also share those hard calls that we get every once in a while. Sister Touhy is from Australia and is here living with her daughter, son-in-law and their girls. They have been here for about 3 years and are heading back to Australia in August. I am happy for her, but I will miss her terribly. She was the first one to ask me if I would like to go to lunch with her. Since the moment I met her, I felt as if we knew each other before. I'm sure many of you have felt this way on occasion. Sister White started a few months after me, but she is only able to serve until the end of this month. In October of this year I will have served for 2 years. It will be lonely without these special sisters. BTW, my sister LaNae started in February and she is doing really good.

Just a side note: Last Wednesday Sister Mills announced that she is getting married. She is the sweetest little lady in the world. She always has a smile and is always upbeat. She is positively giddy now. Guess how old she is............87!! She is marrying a fellow who is 89!! She is awesome!

Little E

It is little E's birthday this month. He is sooo cute!! He makes me laugh. He is all about dump trucks, back hoes, and bobcats and that is because his dad takes him for rides in these machines. I told little E that I have never ridden in a dump truck and he said in his low serious voice, "when I get big like daddy I will come and give you a ride." I really think he will!! He is a great kid. I love this picture because he told me he put his own socks on that day, he was so proud of himself. We love you little E more than tongue can tell!!
