Dream Among Dreams

You might ask, what in the heck is Brad Pitt's picture doing on this blog, especially since I have never seen one of his movies (this is true, not even the Oceans 11, 12-22). Well, I will tell you. I had this dream last late fall about the time Marie Osmond fainted on Dancing With The Stars. So sit down, relax and enjoy the dream.

I was in the studio audience of Dancing with Stars when the host came out and asked for volunteers. There I was bouncing up and down on my seat with my arm waving saying, "Oh, pick me, pick me, pick me." (I know it's pathetic) As luck would have it I was picked and joined about 6-7 other ladies on stage. We were all different ages, sizes, shapes, you know, just down to earth women.

The host said he had a big suprise for all of us, and right then Brad Pitt came walking out on the stage. Well, you can imagine the reaction of the women that were there. It was explained that Brad (should I call him by his first name?? I feel like I know him now) was going to teach each of us a specific dance. To the first lady Brad said, "I'm going to teach you the Rumba" (he even rolled his RRR). To the next lady, "I am going to teach you the tango" to which he clickety clicked his heels. And so on down the line he went...waltz, cha, cha, etc. I was the last one in line. When he got to me, he looked me up and down and said, "I think you can only handle the HOKEY POKEY!!" Now, I ask you, why? Why would he said that to me when I enjoy a good cha cha just as much as the next down to earth lady?

That was my dream. At the time I had this dream, I was sick with vertigo. Anyone that has had a bad case of vertigo knows that you DO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE as it makes you sick. When I woke up I started to laugh. The more I laughed the sicker I got. It was truly a sight. Soon after this dream my very, very good friend, Anne Pratt called to see how I was doing and I told her about the dream. She had a good laugh. I hope this has brightened your day and that you have had a good laugh as well. I want to laugh until the day I die, or Brad Pitt asks me to dance, whichever comes first.!!

First Annual Webb Pie Contest

Last night when I couldn't sleep I started to have some fun memories--One of those was last year's thanksgiving. The girls did the meal and each of the boys baked a pie of his choice for dessert. We had a contest--best tasting and best presentation. As you can see we lined them all up along the table, numbered them, gave out plates and dug in. We had apple pie, cheesecake, cream pie, chocolate pie, strawberry pie and a peach pie. As we were all tasting the pies, all of a sudden Brion takes a taste of HIS OWN pie and says, "THIS IS TERRIBLE," and spits it out. And it really was terrible. First of all he put home canned peaches in instead of peach pie filling and he forgot the sugar!! He also forgot the salt in the pie crust!! I was pleased that nobody said how terrible it was until he did himself. But then you should have heard the comments. By the way, Brion's pie is in the middle of the top picture and he got first prize for presentation. It was so funny, that I don't even remember who won for best taste. I think it was Jarom's strawberry pie. They were all yummy but one. Next year (even though it is an off year for our family we will do it again in November sometime) I am sure Brion won't forget the sugar!!

Brett's mission

Brett has been out seven months. He is struggleing with the language. Jarom says that it is harder to learn a different language in a stateside mission because you also speak English and therefore it takes longer to learn. I think Brett is a little too hard on himself though. He wants to speak like his companions do. He is still in Compton (since he first got to California in January) with his second companion. I thought you might like a look at some of the pictures he has sent us. Some are old and are of the MTC during the winter, but they are still neat.
