Comings and Goings at the Webbs

We have had an exciting couple of weeks. First of all, Amie ran in the RAGNAR (Wasatch Back from Logan to Park City) on a team. She did really well. She must have been in pretty good shape because she didn't have too much stiffness the next couple of days. Adrien likes to run in the Wasatch back every year with her sisters but she can't as she is 6 1/2 months along, so she drove one of the vans for their team. We had all of my brothers girls and their husbands except for 2 participate as well as my sister's son-in-law. I guess it is a fun thing to do.

We got our beef in the freezer. Nick and I had a juicy steak on Sunday and we didn't even feel bad!

Nick and I went to San Francisco on the weekend of our Anniversary and Nick's birthday. It was so much fun!! We saw Wicked which is THE BEST musical I have EVER SEEN!! It is better than Phantom, Cats, Aida, Student Prince and Les Mes. I was so excited about seeing Wicked that I couldn't go to sleep very easily for at least a week before. When we got to the Orpheum Theater Nick told me that I had to control myself and not holler out, or he would find another seat. Well, I did holler out a couple of times and he must have felt the same way I did because he didn't move....course that might be because it was sold out :) Here are some pictures. This is the most crooked road in the United States. I have to tell you we hired a taxi driver to take us to some of the sights of S.F. She took us all over the place. Nick had mentioned to her about how steep the roads are and how he loved watching the movies where they raced down the road and flew through the air. Well, SHE DID JUST THAT!! At one point the tires were not touching pavement, if you know what I mean. Scared me to death....Nick loved it. Her name was Queenie and she knew everything there was about S.F. Told some great stories, some of which I am not quite sure is true, but they were interesting anyway.
We loved the cable cars. They are run by electricity and because the streets are so steep they have to change the wooden brakes every 5 days. The conductor was pullin' on the brakes and ringing the bells and hollerin'. Secretly I know Nick will post for a conductors job someday.
This next picture is a part of the cable that spans the Golden Gate Bridge. It is amazing. It has over 27,000 smaller cables inside. Total cables used is over 80,000 miles worth.
This is the only (luckily) picture we have of the two of us. With the GG bridge in the background. We were able to walk on the bridge which was very exciting.
This is the Palace of Arts museum. They were renovating it when we were there. It was built in 1917 as a welcome to visitors to the Bay Area. The columns at the left of the picture on top of them is a square and at the corner of each square is a woman who is mourning the departure of her loved one out to sea.
This is China town. We ate at China Town and didn't even get sick :). Nick always says that chinese food looks like it has been eaten once. I love it.
It was an exciting trip. We were able to see Soucelito which is a quaint little town across the bridge. You could spend a whole day there by itself. We went to Fisherman's Wharf and walked all over the place. Street performers were there and that is just something you don't see in SLC, other than the homeless, and they really don't perform....or do they? Anyway, we are so thankful we were able to go and see things that are different. Until next time San Francisco.....

Sounds like a wonderful anniversary celebration. I love SF, I lived near there when I was a YSA.

I saw just about everyone you mentioned while running the race & it was fun, but it sounds like SF was even more FUN.
