Yesterday, Brett, Brion, Jarom and Nick went to Grantsville to put in a fence for the cows that we are buying. While they were there, the kids and I had fun! We did a little project. We all sat at the table and we decided that we were going to follow the prophets. So I cut little pieces of paper, found some little sticks, got out the crayons and glue sticks and away we went. Each picked a prophet they wanted to follow and drew pictures about him. It is amazing how smart this generation of God's children are. After we were all done, we set the little chairs up in a semi circle with a big chair facing. Then we each took a turn in the big chair and showed our pictures and told our stories. Emmie (7) did two, one on Abraham and one on Jonah (she wrote her story on the backs of the pictures). Logan (6) did his on Noah (he was very animated and everybody loved it). Allie (4) did hers on Adam and Eve (she learned how to draw birds, it was really cute). Landon (3) was a suprise--he did his on Enoch (I promise, I did not prompt or even say the name Enoch). When he told his story, he sat in the chair, held up his picture of Enoch and said, "Enoch was a really good guy. He helped people to be really good. They were so good that Heavenly Father took their city up to heaven." This was all by himself, without any help. Amazing! Kate, (20 months) did hers on Pres. Monson. I did help her a little. But she wanted to draw a picture of the temple, which she did, and told us that President Monson is a prophet. I did mine on Daniel and the lion's den. Afterward, we put each of their stories in a baggie and they are all set for FHE this Monday with their families. It was an amazing experience.
