Sweet Little Claire Bear

Introducing~~~the newest member of our family. Big Brother loves her so
Another big brother couldn't wait to hold her
Papa enjoying the scent of youth
We are sooo glad she is here and healthy. On the way home from the hospital Easton said: "Grammy, will you help me sing I am a child of God to my baby?" Then he sang it all by himself on the way home. It was dead quiet in the car. Ahhh, the sweetness of family!

Yes! I Know It's True

Last weekend J&A went out of town and I was delighted to watch their girls. What a fun time we had! I brought them to our home on Friday evening for two more nights at our house. Saturday we cleaned. Here is Kate and Allie with Windex and paper towels standing in our kitchen sink cleaning my window. When they were done, you finally could see out of it :). Anyway, the neatest part was bedtime (after our movie and treats). I got the girls tucked in and of course they wanted me to tell them a couple of stories. I usually tell stories of my childhood, but I thought maybe I would try something a little different. I started out by telling them this was a true story, and I told them about Joseph Smith from the time he was little and had his leg operated on through the first vision. These girls know this story very well. When I got to the part where J.S. saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and what they told him, little Allie (5 yr old) asked a couple of questions and here they are:

Allie: Grammy do you believe thats true?
Grammy: Yes! I know it's true!
Allie: How do you know it's true?
Grammy: Because the Holy Ghost told me so.
Allie: How does He do that?
Emmie: When you feel really good inside, kind of like a warm blanket, then what you are hearing or reading is true.

This was one of those moments, as a grandmother, I cherish so very much.

Emmie's Baptism

Emmie was baptized and confirmed on Saturday, August 28, 2010. Our first grandchild. She was so excited about it. All the Webb's and Allen's came to witness this big event in her life. Even some of the neighbors were there, including the non-members that live next door. Jarom baptized and confirmed her a member of the church. It was a wonderful blessing. Here are some pictures of her special day: This is Emmie and Jarom All the kids in the family sang: Daxton, Landon, Lexie, Logan, Claire (Adrien's sisters cute girl), Kate and Allie. Easton and Clay were too shy to go up.
I took this cute picture before she got dressed out in the foyer.
Here is their special family. Adrien (she is due in October with another baby girl), Allie, Emmie, Jarom and Kate.
It was a really neat day. The first of many of this kind we hope. We are so proud of you Emmie!!!

More Spotlights

This is our little EDW. She is our oldest grandchild. She is getting baptized on Saturday and we are thrilled with her decision. She is very bright and has been able to read since she was 5. She loves school and dance and is a wonderful older sister. We love you more than tongue can tell! On the left is our LBW. He is our second grandchild. He is very smart as well. He loves the outdoors and any ball he can get a hold of. He is a great golfer (Brion takes him), soccer player (when we watched he made 4 goals) and baseball player (he was the only one who could slide into home). We love you more than tongue can tell!
Here is our little AMW. What a cutie! She has strawberry blonde hair (except in the summer it is more blonde) and always is smiling. She started kindergarten this year and when I said, "I bet you are going to be the smartest in your class." She said, "Yup". I love that! She loves dancing and playing with her dolls. She is total girl. We love you more than tongue can tell!

Climb Every Mountain

Since Brett came home from his mission he has been excited to climb Timp and Deseret Peak. Every year Nick and the boys go up the Unitas or climb Timp, sometimes both. Deseret Peak is the highest peak in Tooele County and is quite a hike. Here are some pictures: This is Brett climbing Timp. Pretty wild flowers. It was so crowded the day they went up there was a back-up on the trial.Earlier in the season the wildflowers are really bright. This is my #1 guy :)

Every year they see wild life. Moose, pikas and mountain goats. This mother goat and her kid were only a few feet away from them.
Instead of going down the way they came up, Nick and Brett decided to go down the Aspen Grove side. Never, never, never again will they do that. It takes just a long and is twice as steep. It was really hard on Nick's knees. But on the way down there was a lot of water falls that were really pretty. It was really dry on the way up.
This is Brett on top of Deseret Peak. You can see the Great Salt Lake.

We have a theme song in our family, really we do, I sing it often this time of year it goes like this: (To be song to the tune of Climb Every Mountain)
Climb Every Mountain
Fish every stream.
Golf at every golf course
'Till you reach your dream.
-----
I dream of the hunt,
Of the deer and the duck.
When I'm out in the woods,
I pray for good luuuuuccccckk.
-----
Climb every mountain
Fish every stream.
Golf at every golf course,
'Till you reach your drrrreeeeaaaamm.
