I am a lucky gal, I am the first to admit it! I have had a very happy life. I had a wonderful childhood with loving parents and siblings. First and foremost is my love for our Savior and His sacrafice for all mankind. I must say though, that the love of my life, my soul mate and confidant is Nick. We are like two peas in a pod. We were raised pretty much the same way, we have the same goals in life and truly love each other. That isn't to say we haven't had problems or trials in our life, but together we have seen them through, and they have made us stronger I think. We are not perfect, but we are perfect for each other. I hope you enjoy some of these pictures of Nick. This probably will embarrass him, so let's keep this blog a secret until I print it into a book at the end of this year, until then, this is just between you and me.
Nick at about 1 1/2

This picture was printed in the Instructor Church magazine in the late 50's or early 60s. (The instructor magazine was replaced by the Ensign magazine years later).

Picture of our wedding reception. What a lovely day that was, the beginning of an eternal family.

I love this picture--Brion, Nick and Jarom up at the Lehi Cemetary.

I admire Nick so much. We decided that he needed to finish his college degree and so he went back to school (which took about 2 years) and graduated when I was pregnant with Brett. That is pretty hard to do with four children. I love the look on Brion's face. The kids were so proud of him that day as was I and his mother who was watching from heaven.

This is on top of Deseret Peak with Brett. Nick has always loved hiking in the mountains. He goes every year (except last year) backpacking into the Unitas and he climbs to the top of Timp each year. This was his first climb up Deseret Peak.

Nick loves his children and grandchildren. They bring so much happiness into our lives. Here is a sweet picture of Allie, Papa and Dax. Allie and Dax are just a few weeks apart.

Thanks for this post Miriam, Nick is definitely one of those people who I have sought out for advice on more than one occasion. He is a good man and its been a blessing for me to have him as a father in law.

Wow Mom. These pictures are great!
I love it!
Brings back so many memories.
Great post. Nick has always been such a great man and an inspiration to me.
This was so fun to catch up with your family a little bit! Thanks for finding my blog and leaving a post. This brings a little bit of home to California. I'm not doing very well with keeping our blog updated...this whole working for a living thing is overrated! :) I'm so glad to see how well you're all doing and how fun to see your beautiful grandkids. Love the post about Nick and I think he hit the jackpot with his choice too. You guys are the best! You're such a neat family and I miss all of the people that I love in the 4th ward. Your post about Anne, Gwen & Ellen rings true to me too. Tell everyone "hi" and I'll keep checking back!
Love,
Jenie
I love this post! The pictures are so fun. I like to see the boys when they were little. You picked a handsome husband. Calli
Mmmm's the word from me. This is a great post and you are a special lady to have a very special guy.
What a great tribute to Nick; Phil and I have always admired your marriage and family. Thanks for sharing!
Dad is a wonderful person. I couldn't have asked for a better dad. He always is willing to help with anything, to offer advice, or does to lend out a listening ear. He treats his family with such respect and love. We love him so much
